Whenever I want to impress a date or new lifeform, I pull out a small bag of alfa-mulch as living proof that innovation is still possible in this day and age and universe. Not only does it fill a gap in the market I didn't know existed, having built in DE & Surfactants, it's beautiful. Add it to any ditch scrub and it instantly becomes good enough to live/laugh/love.

Montmorillonite (Calcium Bentonite)
Calcium Bentonite is considered the "Caddillac of Clays" and Australia has one of the best reserves of this awesome soil ingredient anywhere in the world.
Montmorrillonite has the ability to add Cation Exchance Capacity to your soil, helping soils hold onto nutrients rather than them running away on you.
Often sold as a way to convert Sandy ground into something more soil like.
It should be used sparingly as it is Clay and will hold significant water; as little as 1kg per cubic meter can make a difference! Start small, add a bit, mix and check texture, then add more from there. Remember its easy to put it in - hard to take it out!
