Malted Barley is a natural, organic soil amendment that is made from barley that has been germinated and then dried. The germination process activates the enzymes in the barley, which makes it a powerful plant growth booster.

Of all the malted grains, Malted Barley possesses the widest range of enzyme types and has a diastatic value more than others such as Wheat or Rye.

The Malted Barley we source comes from an organic source and is very clean by nature, there are many types of this Malted grain available but we searched for a long time to find one that does not have Glyphosate used on it during production meaning no residual in the finished product. Believe it or not, even food grade products have an allowable level of this, so food grade isn’t enough and while most sources of Malted Barley you will find are from food source, this doesn’t guarantee anything. Our source has tested effectively nil for Glyphosate and derivatives by a leading Australian laboratory.

Dosage:

The dosage of Malted Barley will vary depending on the plant, the soil, and the desired results. However, a general rule of thumb is to use 2 to 4 tablespoons (approx 28 grams to 56 grams) per 5 liters of soil.
